Update on DigiNotar

  • Fraud Prevention, Security

Earlier this week we talked about Google being attacked by DigiNotar, and we have an update to share with you. It has been reported that Safari users on Mac OS X are still vulnerable to fraudulent security ceritificates.

DigitNotar was hacked earlier this week and issued hundreds of fake security certificates for websites like Google, Yahoo! And others. Both Microsoft and Google revoked trust in the certificates as a fraud prevention tool.

As of yet, Apple has not provided a patch for the Safari browser, so users are being told to mark any identity verification certificates issued by DigiNotar as Never trust. Like always, your security is in your hands. We will keep you up-to-date on new DigiNotar findings as they arise.
